Since 1908, the Gary Public Library has tried and succeeded in providing the community with not only a safe place, but also to provide knowledge and well being to it's community. During these times of economic downturn, it is more and more important that we do not forget to keep watch over the libraries of our community. The goal of our library is to provide lifelong learning, strengthen and advance our community. Your contributions not only help to keep shelves filled with high request items such as book and magazines, but it also provides help in providing classes to our community to help continue closing of the digital divide. With the library expecting over $2.5 million dollar shortfall in the next year due to property tax caps, continuing this tradition will become even harder for the organization.
